going on adventures is the best thing. not knowing where you will end up, who you will meet or when you will return gives a trip a real sense of occasion. you are a traveller and you can do anything. kind of.
of course, in packing terms, this is a nightmare. a grey time of year makes it particularly tricky. heat, rain, wind, cold and the need for spontaneity means that deciding what to take on the trip is harder than the actual trip.

for a few months romping round europe there's no denying you'll need jumpers, flip flops for hostel showers, and loads of pants. that suddenly turns into a crazy heavy bag.
