It's that time of year again

Father's day gift ideas

Why is every dad so hard to shop for? We can't keep buying them rubbish gadgets from the argos gift section, it's time to get him something half decent. Here is literally all we could think of for dad's day this June.

1. A hamper is such an easy way out and you can get them all over the internet all ready made and in lots of different price brackets. If you want to make it slightly less impersonal and a bit more of a hassle for yourself, you could always make one up yourself with stuff you know he actually likes, rather than port. Does anyone really like port?

2. This is a such a good book. Perfect bathroom reading this is an interesting flick through and for all dads who dream of getting away somewhere obscure. It looks more expensive than it is as well, always a bonus.

3. If you really want to treat him, get a really nice blazer. They're so handy and this vintage Burberry's number is a really versatile one. Obviously you'd need to know his measurements which could be tricky but if you want to measure one of his jackets then you could get a great gift.

4. If you're really on a tight budget then a good gentleman's vintage scarf is a nice basic gift. They look fancy and there's a lot of different styles to choose from. This silk one goes with most things and is a bargain to boot!

5. If you're minted enough to afford this then you probably have someone else buying your presents for you but this just looks really good. Everyone likes The Rolling Stones and this summer they're wheeling their zimmer frames out to Hyde Park. Looks like lots of fun for dads, and mums probably.

6. Tickets to something funny is always a winner. It has to actually be funny though or they have to lie to you about having a good time. This is a pretty safe bet and lots of dad's of a certain age will remember when Hitchhikers Guide was on the radio. On tour with the original cast, we might actually go and see this ourselves.

If all else fails just get them a toblerone or a bottle of whisky.
